It Takes A Village

We are growing our family. When you’re pregnant, that looks like an expanding belly, doctors visits, and funny cravings. When you’re adopting, this often looks like lots of paperwork, approval processes, partnering with agencies, and raising support. It truly “takes a village” to bring baby home through adoption.

We are hand-making this heritage quilt (pictured above) to share with our child the story of the village that helped them home. For everyone that donates, we will be stitching your name into the quilt to commemorate your place in our village.

FUNDING Q&A

What is your support-raising goal?

In total, we anticipate the cost of this adoption to be around $65K. We have saved $15K already and hope to raise $50K.

Why is adoption so expensive?

When adopting through foster care, the cost of adoption is mainly provided by taxpayers (up to $100,000). With private newborn adoption, the family adopting is responsible for this cost.

How are these funds used?

These are the main costs associated with private adoption:

  • expenses to support the birth mother
    • medical expenses and sometimes housing or food
    • the cost of delivery and the hospital stay
    • counseling services
  • government and legal fees to make the adoption official
  • agency & home study expenses
  • making a profile book for expectant moms to get to know us
  • travel expenses and hotel stays

How can I support you?

We ask that you will consider supporting us in two ways:

Pray. The Lord gave us the dream to adopt and He will also provide everything we need to do so. Please pray for that we will not waiver in trusting His provision for approvals, finances, supplies, health, etc. Please pray for our hearts as we prepare to become parents, for the birth mother as she is facing such a difficult decision for her child, and for our child to be healthy and safe.

Donate. If you would like to give toward our adoption costs, click the button below which will take you to our fundraising page. We are excited to stitch your name into our quilt! Fun fact: there are 132 homes on our village quilt. If 132 friends donate $200, we will be just over halfway to our goal!
